As far as the Golay family memory goes, it has been in watchmaking. Born in 1782 in the Joux Valley, Jacques David Golay established himself in Geneva as a watchmaker in 1829.

His son Auguste Golay, founded in 1837 the house Golay-Leresche. According to the foundation act, this company is “a watchmaker’s business”, it buys the supplies necessary for the manufacture necessary for the manufacture of watches assembled in its workshops.

At the end of the 19th century, the company took the name of Golay Fils & Stahl, it is with the companies Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin the flagship of Geneva watchmaking.

It was the meeting between Christophe Golay and Emile Spierer who shared the same watchmaking dream that motivated the creation of the Golay Spierer house on January 1, 2001.

Based in its Carouge workshops, Golay Spierer has specialized for more than 22 years in the creation of unique, tailor-made watches for private customers.

It is at the origin of more than 200 original and unique creations; sharing and watchmaking passion forge our DNA.

Opus 2 – Albert Einstein

The second opus is dedicated to Albert Einstein in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of his Nobel Prize in physics.

A meteorite plaque engraved with his name and the year of the Nobel Prize adorns the back of the watch.
A hand-cut carving symbolizing the deformation of space-time by gravity is placed in the dial on the document signed by Albert’s hand.
